During World War 2, the British people were afraid of an attack and to protect the children they sent them away from their families. It was hard for children to be away from their family and friends, just like it is hard for us today. On October 13, 1940, at the age of 14, Queen Elizabeth (then just a princess) spoke over the radio to the children of Britain reminding them to have hope.
